Home Visiting

Early Head Start & Parents as Teachers

Our home visiting program uses the Parents as Teachers (PAT) curriculum, which is a research based, award-winning early childhood curriculum.  Our home visiting services are FREE for pregnant women or families with children ages birth to five, who reside within the USD 383 zoning boundaries OR the Head Start Services area (Riley County).

Our home visiting program is designed to:

  • Help parents feel more confident in their parenting role
  • Enhance child development and school achievement
  • Help children reach their maximum learning potential

Families enrolled in home visits receive:

  • Information and guidance before birth to help prepare for becoming a parent
  • Weekly, bi-weekly or monthly visits with a Family Education Partner
  • Activities designed to support the individual needs of their child
  • Screenings to assess their child's overall development
  • Assistance with setting and reaching goals for their child and family
  • Connections to needed resources in our community
  • Opportunities to participate in family activities and socialization experiences

All families with children under 5 years of age are encouraged to apply.
