Purpose of This Guide

The goal of this guide is to empower students and families to make informed decisions about academic pathways. Each course description includes essential information such as prerequisites, grade level recommendations, and key learning outcomes. From core subjects like English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies to electives in the arts, technology, world languages, and career and technical education (CTE), this guide reflects the diversity and depth of our curriculum.

Navigating Your Academic Path

Middle and high school are pivotal years for academic growth and personal development. As students progress through each grade, they begin to make choices that shape their future—choices about advanced coursework, college preparation, vocational training, and personal enrichment. This guide serves as a roadmap to help students:

  • Understand the progression of courses from grade to grade

  • Identify prerequisites and recommended preparation

  • Explore new subjects and discover personal passions

  • Plan for postsecondary goals, including college, career, and community engagement

We encourage students to take ownership of their learning by selecting courses that challenge them, reflect their interests, and align with their long-term goals. Counselors, teachers, and families are here to support that process every step of the way.
