These FAQ’s are primarily how to complete necessary tasks in Skyward. If you have specific questions about procedures and guidelines on topics such as time off information, clocking in and out, scheduling, etc. please see your job position handbook or ask your direct supervisor.

There are two options for clocking in and out – please note that you can only clock in and out from a device that is connected to the district Wi-Fi:
- Using the VirtuaTime Kiosk (wall-mounted time clock)
- Skyward Online via web browser (any device, including mobile devices)
Using the VirtuaTime Kiosk at Your Work Building
Clocking in
- Click “Enter Code”
- Enter your employee number and click the arrow– if you don’t know your number, please see the “How do I find my employee number” section.
- When clocking in for the first time each day, you will see an option that says “In.” Select this option. You are now clocked in for the day!
- If you only have one job code, you will be automatically clocked in. If you have multiple job codes, please select the appropriate job code for this session.
Clocking out
- Click “Enter Code”
- Enter your employee number and click the arrow– if you don’t know your number, please see the “How do I find my employee number” section.
- Select “Out.” You are clocked out for the day! You may also use “Gone for the Day” if you are at the end of your working day.
- If you are clocking out and you are finished for the week, you may select “Gone for the Day and Submit.” This will submit your weekly timesheet. It is recommended to submit your timesheets every Friday after clocking out to prevent any potential delay in your pay.
- Clocking out for a break or lunch? You may use the “break” and “lunch” options during the day, if you wish, but you may also just use the “out” option then clock back in as normal. Using any of these options are the same, they just have a different label.

Using Skyward via Web Browser
This option works using a web browser on any device such as a computer, laptop, ipad, or personal cell phone. However, you MUST be on USD 383 Wi-Fi to use this option.
Clocking in
- Go to the Skyward website
- Log in to Skyward – see the “How to Log in to Skyward” section for more details
- Select “Clock In/Out”
- Select “In.” You are clocked in for the day! You will be able to confirm your clock in by looking at the “Time Transaction” section below. It will show your clock in time.
Clocking out
- Go to the Skyward website
- Log in to Skyward – see the “How to Log in to Skyward” section for more details
- Select “Clock In/Out”
- Select “Out.” You are clocked out for the day! You may also use “Gone for the Day” if you are at the end of your working day.
- You will be able to confirm your hours worked for the day in the “Time Transactions” section.
- Clocking out for a break or lunch? You may use the “break” and “lunch” options during the day, if you wish, but you may also just use the “out” option then clock back in as normal. Using any of these options are the same, they just have a different label.

You will need to know your employee number to clock in and out at the kiosk at your building. Your building Office Professionals may have a list available.
- From your device browser, open the Skyward log in page.
- Select “Sign in with O365”
- Select “Employee Profile”
- Find your Employee Number listed under “Employee Details.”



Once you know your employee number, you can use it to clock in and out on the kiosk. If you have trouble remembering your employee number you can always write it on your badge or on a slip of paper, have it stored in your device, or another way that allows you to remember your number. Keep in mind, your employee number may grant someone access to your personal information if they are logging into the kiosk. It is best to keep it private.

- From your device browser, open the Skyward log in page and select “Sign in with O365.”
- Select “Request Time Off”
- Select “Add Time off Transaction”
- Select either “Single Day” and enter the date you will be gone OR select “Date Range” and enter the start and end date you will be gone.
- Once enter the dates, the form will populate more questions!
- Make sure the correct assignment (your name and position type) and the supervisor show up.
- Select the type of time off to apply
- Select the “Time Off Reason” that matches the type of time off
- Enter the number of hours or days you will use. Hours and days will both automatically update depending on which one you fill out. Licensed staff will need to enter in half or full day increments instead of hours.
- Enter the description (recommended, but optional)
- Enter start and end time (recommended, but optional)
- Select “Save” if finished or if you need to add another, select “Save & Add Another.”
- Your time off request will show up in the “Time Off Transactions” table.

- From your device browser, open the Skyward log in page.
- Select “Sign in with O365”
- Select “Time Off Balances.”
- Use the available table to find out your time off balances – the column labeled “Total Available Balance” will give you the total balance you have available for leave.

- From your device browser, open the Skyward log in page.
- Select “Sign in with O365”
- Select “Demographic Changes”
- Update any applicable fields and select “Complete and Next”
- If needed, add or update any emergency contacts.
- Select “Complete and Review” and check everything is correct
- Select “Submit Form”





Clocking In and Out

- From your device browser, open the Skyward log in page.
- Select “Sign in with O365”
- Select “Clock In/Out”
- Select “Edit”
- Edit fields, as appropriate. If you need to add a whole entry, select “Add Time Transaction.”
- When finished, select “save.” Ensure your edits were made using the Time Transaction table.

Submitting your timesheet is not always necessary as your supervisors and OPs know how to do so. However, it is recommended you submit your timesheet each week at the end of the work day.
At your Building Kiosk
- At the end of your last work day for the week, sign into the kiosk using your employee number.
- Select “Gone for the Day and Submit.”
- You may also select select “Out” then “Submit Time” in the upper left corner.
Using Skyward Online
- From your device browser, open the Skyward log in page.
- Select “Sign in with O365”
- Select “Unsubmitted Timesheet Weeks”
- Select “Review and Submit”
- Make sure all the details are correct and select “Submit.” Note – if you have not clocked out for the day, the system will not let you submit your timesheet.
Payroll and Tax Information
Pay periods are associated with your work calendar – visit the work calendar and pay period webpage.

- From your device browser, open the Skyward log in page.
- Select “Sign in with O365”
- Select “Payroll Check History”
- To view information for a single paycheck, select the arrow on the left.
- If you need to print a wage statement, select the arrow on the right and select “Wage Statement (Employee Access)”
- Select “Run Report”
- Select the appropriate option

- From your device browser, open the Skyward log in page.
- Select “Sign in with O365”
- Select “Direct Depost Updates”
- Update the “ACH Account” fields if you need to change it to a different account.
- If you would like to have your pay go to multiple accounts, fill out the necessary forms labeled “Deduction Details.” You can pick a dollar amount or a percentage.
- Reach out to the Payroll team if you have any questions.

Previous year W-2s are not available in Skyward. The 2026 W-2 will be available in early 2027.
If you need prior W-2s, contact Business Operations or Human Resources to request a copy to pick up from the LEC.

- Select either “K-4 Kansas Tax Withholding Update” or “W-4 Withholding Update.”
- Fill out the fields
- Select “Submit Form”
