Registration Steps
- Complete Online Registration - Follow the step by step directions in the Parent Portal.
- Complete the Free/Reduced Application (OPTIONAL)
- Please note: You do NOT need to fill out the application if you have received an email from Child Nutrition stating that your student(s) have already qualified.
- New students/families must complete online registration BEFORE the application can be approved.
- If you only have students attending Bluemont Elementary, Lee Elementary, Northview Elementary, Ogden Elementary, or Woodrow Elementary then you do not fill out the free/reduced meal application. All students attending any of the listed schools will receive meals at no charge as these schools are participating in CEP (Community Eligibility Provision). If your students attend these schools and you want to see if you qualify for free or reduced fees you will want to fill out the household economic survey during online registration.
- Not sure which form to fill out? Please contact either the district business office or child nutrition for clarification. If your student’s school was not mentioned above, you will want to fill out the free/reduced meal application to see if you qualify. A new Free/Reduced meal applications must be completed each school year.
- Contact Child Nutrition if you have any questions.
- Pay Student Fees - Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or eCheck are all accepted. Parents choosing not to pay online may pay at the student’s school. For questions about fees, please contact Christina Shoemaker in the Business Operations department at (785) 587-2000.
- Returning students/families - should be able to see fees right away in the portal. If applying for Free/Reduced lunch, please allow 2 business days for fees to be adjusted.
- New students/families - after the online registration application has been processed, you will receive a follow-up email with further instructions on creating a Parent Portal account. Fees in the Parent Portal are typically available 24 hours after the approval email is sent.
- Ages & Stages Questionnaire (KINDERGARTEN ONLY) – Please complete the Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) if you have not in the last 4 months.
